What Does Health and Fitness Mean to You?

Oct 30, October 30, Jeff Nagle. Fitness is different for everyone. Some rely on it to make a living, others to raise children, and others see fitness as having some control over their health. Many take advantage of their fitness, while others chose to ignore it. Our bodies are mysterious to most of us. Fitness means the condition of being physically and mentally fit with good health. It is the ability to carry out daily tasks with vigor and alertness, without undue fatigue, and with ample energy to enjoy life.

Is fitness measured by weight, appearance or a certain number of miles run? What does fitness mean to you? I would say my idea of fitness has changed over the past few years.

The younger me would have said fitness was about being a certain weight or looking a certain way. The older and more wiser me? A healthy body means taking care of wnat by eating well and exercising. Feeling fit to me means knowing I am able to go out and do almost any maen biking, swimming, running, hiking. Feeling fit means I can carry loads and loads of laundry up and down the stairs without huffing or carrying cases of water in from the car.

Fitness is feeling strong, rested and confident. Finding a certain balance and peace with my mind and spirit has become more important figness me and plays a big part whta my view of whether or not I feel fit.

I first started after I quit smoking and started to put on a few pounds, so it was mostly about burning calories. Then I started to appreciate the aesthetics of a fit body. When I started running it became about doss faster, and running longer races. Being able to move and feel good about myself are key. And healthy. That last one is being challenged with my new diagnosis of RA!

When I first started my fitness journey I was only fitnesw about losing weight. I think just being passionate and enthusiastic about life in general, and having varied interests keeps you physically and mentally fit. I do some gardening, reading, watching news, and taking interest in all that is happening around me, that includes cooking something for my family once a month.
